Here to talk about Universal Orlando Resorts' other budget friendly hotel on property! We've stayed at Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn and Suites and knew we had to check out its sister hotel located right across the street.
The Dockside Inn and Suites, as you guessed, has more of a lake/dock vibe as opposed to surf. The decor is rustic and very cozy.
In the lobby, there is a Starbucks and bar/lounge. Rob would run down and grab Starbucks while I got ready which was really helpful, so we didn't have to take time out of our morning to wait in line at City Walk or the parks.
Off the lobby is the Pier 8 Market where you can grab breakfast, lunch and dinner to stay or to go. This is really handy for those late night after park munchies. Current hours are 7am-11pm. We took our dinner to the pool every night which I highly recommend!
The rooms are very similar to The Surfside Inn which we really loved the layout!
The pool was definitely our favorite place to chill! Lots of space and chairs.
There are two pools with full-service bars: The Wave Maker’s Pool Bar and The Oasis Beach Bar.
There is a Universal Studios store in the hotel as well so you can grab last minute park gear, sunscreen or souvenirs.
Just like Surfside Inn, Dockside offers a shuttle that takes you to all three Universal Parks and City Walk. We found this very convenient, so we didn't have to worry about parking at the parks. Note: self-parking at the hotel is $15 a night.
We prefer staying on property just to make things a little easier! Some other things these hotels offer are ticket kiosks in the lobby so you don't have to grab them from the parks.
When you stay at Surfside Inn or Dockside Inn you can use your key and access the amenities for either hotel - perfect for if you wanted to check out the Surfside pool or cafe!
