Denzel's first time at the beach was a success! The first time I visited San Diego in 2022, I knew I wanted to bring him back.
I'm really impressed with how dog friendly San Diego is. It truly is a town run by dogs! So many dog friendly bars, beaches, stores, coffee shops and more.

We found a pet friendly VRBO located within walking distance by the bay which is something we wanted so we didn't have to drive too much and worry about parking.
Lots of beers and pups here! The patio is so cute and spacious so dogs can have some space (They have to be leashed during your visit).
Most beaches have certain times to visit with a dog. Be sure to double check in case the times change. Summer: before 9am // after 6pm. Winter: before 9am // after 4pm. Dogs must be leashed.
This coffee is walking distance to the beach! Grab some lattes and sit by ocean with your pup before 9am. Pups are allowed inside :D
There is SO much to do in the bay area. Boat rentals, coffee shops, paddle boarding, etc... We walked to a part of the bay from our VRBO and it was the perfect spot for Denzel to enjoy the sand and water without the giant waves crashing! Some parts of the bay are dog friendly and there is a dog park there as well. The same dog hours as the beach also apply for the bay areas.
Belmont is a fun beach amusement park that offers rides, an arcade, a pool and lots to eat and drink! We are big fans of hanging out at Belmont Park.
Dogs are allowed on leash but it can get quite busy, so I suggest going on a slower day. They are also allowed in the restaurants (on the patio) around and in Belmont Park.
Another cute coffee shop that loves pups! Most places have water bowls and treats for your bff. They are allowed inside this shop as well.
