Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood 2018!

This is one of my absolute favorite Halloween events in Los Angeles. It's one of the scariest, most realistic events you will find in Southern California. Because duh, it's Hollywood!

I was so happy to have partnered with Universal Studios Hollywood to cover this event and show you guys how amazing it is! Halloween Horror Nights was formerly knows as 'Fright Nights' and with time they changed the name and made it a permanent attraction that happens every year starting mid September to early November. Most of the haunted houses and mazes are based off some of the scariest movies from classics to new releases. Every year is a different line up of mazes from movies that have been released throughout the year. Of course the classics like Jason, Chucky, Micheal Myers and Norman Bates are always invited. What would Halloween be without them?

Halloween Horror Nights has many ticket options for you to be able to get everything done in one night. Most nights the hours of the event by itself are 7:00 pm-1:00/2:00 am. They do offer a day/night combo for guests who want to enjoy Universal Studios theme park before Horror Nights and that one begins at 2:00 pm going through the end of the night. Click here to check out all the pass types and prices! The lines for the mazes do tend to get long...sometimes even a couple hours, so I recommend snagging the Express Pass. This allows you to wait a shorter time or even skip the lines completely. the Express Pass does cost extra, check out the option on the ticket page on their website for more details.

We opted for the day/night combo so I could cover more of the event! This, in my opinion, is the better deal to get the full experience of Universal Studios during Halloween time and Horror Nights. You get to enjoy all the attractions and shows along with seeing some regular characters out in their Halloween costumes!

There are special themed treats and merch available during this time as well and some are only exclusive to Horror Nights!

Now, Lets go over all the amazing mazes and houses featured this year for Halloween Horror nights 2018!

Stranger Things:

This maze was the main event this year! It takes you through the town of Hawkins trying to stop the Demogorgons! Towards the end, You'll meet up with Eleven as she sends the Demogorgan back where it belongs.

Trick 'R Treat: One of my absolute favorite scary movies! Follow the story as Sam torments and stalks you while trying to escape the craziness of Halloween night! There's also a Trick 'R Treat scare zone on the upper lot, this was one of my favorite parts of the parks!

The First Purge:

Racing through the city trying to find shelter is hard when all crime is legal!

Poltergeist: "They're here." Don't get trapped in the realm of the dead in the classic story of Poltergeist!

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers:

What would Horror Nights be without a classic serial killer maze. Find yourself trying to escape the house of Michael Myers without running into him!

The Horrors of Blumhouse: Chapter Two:

This maze has three stories in it. Two of them are already released movies and one is a completely new one called "The Girl."

Universal Monsters: The monsters that started it all. This is full of the original monsters like Frankenstein, Dracula and Invisible Man!

The Walking Dead Attraction:

Although this is an attraction during regular theme park hours, its definitely more eerie during the Horror Nights atmosphere! Follow Rick to safety while trying to dodge zombies!

Terror Tram: Hollwood Harry's Deadtime Storiez:

The Terror Tram is a fun interactive maze. You take the tram (normally used for Studio Tours) to the back lots, and actually get to walk around! Of course while being chased by crazy clowns. There is also a photo op on the Terror Tram with Norman Bates in front of his motel!

If you love being terrorized and roaming through realistic looking sets, Halloween Horror Nights is the right way to do it. Every year is a new theme and they always go above and beyond to create the scariest monsters! If you're a local to Universal Studios, they have a pass called the "Frequent Fear Pass". This allows you to visit as many times as you want on certain nights during Horror Nights. That's what I plan to get next year! Be on the look out for fun props throughout the park as well!
