We've been to Universal Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights many times but this was our first time to Orlando's Horror Nights and they're celebrating their 30th year!
Halloween Horror Nights runs on select nights from September 3rd until October 31st at Universal Studios. Tickets are sold separately, not included in park admission.
If you don't want park admission, you can enter the park a little early with the "Scream Early Ticket" that allows you to enter at 3 pm and is an additional $30. This can be purchased on the app.
The Scream Early Ticket lets you get to the Stay and Scream holding areas. There are two locations: Near Finnegan's Bar and Central Park by The Simpsons. This is best bang for your buck because you get a head start on the houses before the actual event begins. We had already done The Haunting of Hill House and Beetlejuice by the time Horror Nights started at 6:30 pm.
We already had park admission so we were able to get to The Stay and Scream around 4:45. The earlier the better. It gets pretty packed! You can also add Express pass to your Horror Nights tickets. This allows you to skip the long lines and get into the houses faster. In this case, you probably won't need to do the Stay and Scream. We opted to not get Express and just get a head start with the Stay and Scream option. We were able to get eight of the ten houses done in the regular lines!
The 10 houses include:
The Haunting of Hill House
Beetlejuice
Revenge of the Tooth fairy
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
The Bride of Frankenstein Lives
HHN Icons Captured
Welcome to Scary: Horror in the Heartland
Casefiles Unearthed: Legendary Truth
The Wicked Growth: The Realm of the Pumpkin
Puppet Theater: Captive Audience
All of them were terrifying, detailed and very well done but my favorite was The Texas Chainsaw Massacre! I love me some classic slasher killers. I highly recommend hitting all 10 if you can!
5 Scare Zones:
Crypt TV
30 Years, 30 Fears
Seek and Destroy
Gorewood Forest
Lights, Camera, Hacktion: Eddies Revenge
Every single one of these scare zones was SCARY! I think my favorite was Lights, Camera, Hacktion and Crypt TV. Some intense scares in those.
2 Live Entertainment Shows:
Marathon of Mayhem: Carnage Factory
Halloween Nightmare Fuel
We only caught The Marathon of Mayhem and it was rad as hell! It's a water show showcasing all the monsters, icons and houses.
Make sure you visit "The Tribute Store", it's full of all the Halloween Horror Nights merch and it's so incredibly detailed! It's like a museum type store. It's located in the New York back lot near Revenge of the Mummy. This store is open to day park guests as well.
As far as food goes...Horror Nights does not disappoint. They have booths all over the park full of snacks, meals, desserts and themed drinks!
I can't decide if I like Hollywood or Orlando better, they both are so fun and unique in their own way! I will definitely will be back for Horror Nights in Orlando in the future though. They offer different scare zones and houses on each coast so you definitely have to visit both at some point!
